I first tried Sushi Stop three years ago and I was very impressed with the cheap prices and fresh sushi. I decided to return but this time I tried 11 things on the menu! They have recently raised their prices from starting at only $2.95 per roll to $3.45 per roll. All of the sashimi dishes are $6.50. We started with 3 of the sashimi dished that included 4 pieces each. The yellowtail, salmon and albacore sashimi all had different sauces and were delicious. The albacore was my favorite with the crispy onions on the side and a sweet sauce underneath it that balanced the fish perfectly!
Next we had the stuffed jalapeno. It was a large jalapeno cut in half, stuffed with spicy tuna, tempura fried, and topped with eel sauce and spicy mayo. It was a bit spicy but definitely worth the $3.45 price tag.
While we were eating the stuffed jalapenos we received one plate with most of our sushi orders. We received two orders of the eel (4 pieces), one order of the Japanese Mackerel (2 pieces), one order of the yellowtail ( 2 pieces), and an eel avocado roll(6 pieces). Each order was only $3.45. This is when I started to slow down and realized that my eyes were bigger than my stomach. I still managed to eat half of each. My least favorite was the Japanese mackerel, I don’t think it was at its freshest. Other than that, everything else on the plate was very yummy!
Next we received the popcorn shrimp roll (4 pieces) a California roll topped with a tempura shrimp and spicy mayo. It wa sthe perfect blend of crunchy, soft, and spicy.
Then the baked green mussel appetizer (4 pieces) which was cheesy and had a mayo type of sauce.
Last but not least, we received the chicken teriyaki bowl. It was larger than expected and was also only $3.45. At this point I was so full that I was only able to have two small bites but the chicken was tasty and the teriyaki sauce was thick and flavorful. I think we ordered enough food for 4 people and our total was less than $60.
